Net2Com is the most flexible, affordable, and cost-effective outbound client/server asynchronous modem-pooling system available for Windows NT. The server contains the majority of the code and performs most of the processing, taking advantage of the power already present in the NT environment. The client retains a small COM port redirector that communicates with the server. This leverages the existing network protocol code running on the client machine, and saves memory.

Net2Com uses a non-propriety client/server interface built around standards at every opportunity, which increases the options for terminal emulation and software compatibility on client systems. The Net2Com redirector for MS-DOS uses the standard ComBIOS interface (INT14) to capture data and redirect it to the server, which is still open to receiving data from other sources. Existing workstation software (such as FutureSoft Dynacomm and CDC VistaCom) with built-in NetBIOS interface is already compatible with Net2Com.
